The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) or Ordo Initiationis Christianae Adultorum (OICA) is the process within the Catholic Church where adults are introduced to and educated about Church teaching, allowing for those who are not part of the Catholic family to join, and those who are part of the Catholic family to become better educated about their faith. This being the case, anyone who would like to learn more about Catholic teaching is welcome and encouraged to participate in RCIA classes.
RCIA at Immaculate Heart of Mary has traditionally begun in mid October and ended at Pentecost. Candidates meet weekly on Wednesday nights with periodic weeks with no class. The schedule alters year to year so please contact the Church office if specifics are needed.
We at IHM have been blessed with exceptional RCIA teachers who are excited to help you grow and develop in your faith. If you are considering RCIA, know your presence and participation will bless us and our community. Please contact the Church office if you have further questions.
